1. Sponsor
The Sweet James US Open of Surfing 2026 Vans Gift Card Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored and administered by Sweet James LLP, 4220 Von Karman Ave., Suite 200, Newport Beach, CA 92660 (“Sponsor”). The Sweepstakes is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Vans, Inc., the US Open of Surfing, iHeartMedia, or any other event or media partner.
2. Eligibility
Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, officers, and directors of Sponsor; of Vans, Inc.; of iHeartMedia and its stations (including 102.7 KIIS FM and ALT 98.7); of the US Open of Surfing and its organizers, promoters, and staff; and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotion agencies — as well as the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses) and household members of each — are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.
3. Sweepstakes Period
The Sweepstakes begins July 24, 2026 at 8:00 AM Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends August 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Sponsor's servers are the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.
4. How to Enter
During the Sweepstakes Period, visit sweetjames.com/us-open-of-surfing-2026 (directly or by scanning the official Sweet James QR code at the Sweet James booth at the 2026 US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA) and complete and submit the entry form with your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. Online entry is the only method of entry. Limit one (1) entry per person and per email address during the Sweepstakes. Entries using multiple or fictitious email addresses or identities, or generated by script, macro, bot, or any other automated means, are void and will be disqualified.
5. Prizes
Ten (10) prizes will be awarded: one (1) $100 Vans gift card per winner. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each prize: $100. Total ARV of all prizes: $1,000. Limit one (1) prize per person and per household. Gift cards are subject to the issuer's terms and conditions. Prizes are non-transferable, and no cash equivalent or substitution is permitted, except by Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for any applicable taxes.
6. Winner Selection & Odds
Two random drawings will be conducted by Sponsor from all eligible entries received during the applicable entry period: five (5) winners will be drawn on or about July 26, 2026, and five (5) winners will be drawn on or about August 2, 2026. Winners need not be present at the event to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during each entry period. Sponsor's decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
7. Winner Notification & Prize Claim
Potential winners will be notified by email and by phone within three (3) business days of the applicable drawing, using the contact information provided at entry. A potential winner must respond and confirm eligibility within seven (7) days of first notification attempt, or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries. Prizes will be delivered by mail or as an electronic gift card, at Sponsor's option, within approximately four (4) weeks of confirmation. Sponsor is not responsible for undeliverable email, incorrect contact information, or prizes lost in transit once sent.
8. Publicity Release
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner's consent for Sponsor to use the winner's name, likeness, voice, and city/state of residence for advertising and promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without additional compensation, notice, or approval.
9. General Conditions; Disqualification
Any attempt to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes; to enter more than the permitted number of times; to use automated entry methods; or to otherwise act in a fraudulent, deceptive, or unsportsmanlike manner, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will result in disqualification of all associated entries, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies to the fullest extent permitted by law. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY VIOLATE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.
10. Force Majeure; Right to Modify or Terminate
If the Sweepstakes cannot be conducted or completed as planned for any reason beyond Sponsor's reasonable control — including but not limited to fraud, tampering, technical failures, computer virus, unauthorized intervention, severe weather, natural disaster, epidemic or public-health emergency, act of God, labor dispute, government action, or the cancellation, postponement, or modification of the 2026 US Open of Surfing — Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes and, if terminated early, to award the prizes at random from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the action taken.
11. Release & Limitation of Liability
By entering, entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor, Vans, Inc., iHeartMedia, the US Open of Surfing and its organizers, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of any prize. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, or garbled entries; for any technical or human error in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or for any injury or damage to any person or property relating to participation in the Sweepstakes.
12. Privacy
Information submitted with an entry will be collected and used by Sponsor in accordance with Sponsor's Privacy Policy, available at sweetjames.com/privacy-policy.
13. Disputes; Governing Law
Except where prohibited, entrants agree that any and all disputes arising out of or connected with the Sweepstakes shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively by the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
14. Winners List
For the names of the winners, send an email with the subject line “US Open of Surfing 2026 Sweepstakes Winners List” to marketing@sweetjames.com, received by October 1, 2026.
15. Social Media Platforms
The Sweepstakes may be promoted on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. The Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok Inc., X Corp., Google LLC, or any other social media platform, and entrants release each such platform from any liability in connection with the Sweepstakes.
