Frank Acosta is a personal injury attorney at Sweet James Accident Attorneys who spent 26 years at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office—22 as a prosecutor handling misdemeanors, serious felonies, and violent gang crimes, and four as a Civilian Investigator assisting in the prosecution of sexual assault and domestic violence cases—before dedicating himself to advocating for victims of negligent insurance companies and corporate wrongdoing. He is admitted to practice in California and focuses on motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death.
Frank earned his Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law and his undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach. During his prosecutorial career, he served as a Gang Unit Prosecutor for eight years, led a Gang Prevention program, handled high-profile cases and sensitive investigations as part of the Special Prosecutions Unit, and collaborated extensively with community groups, police departments, and private businesses. He is a former board member of the Hispanic Bar Association and a member of the Orange County Bar Association, CAALA, and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
At Sweet James Accident Attorneys, Frank has dedicated his entire professional life to working with and assisting victims—first as a prosecutor standing up for victims of crime, and now as a personal injury attorney standing up for victims of insurance company tactics. That through-line of service defines everything he does at Sweet James.
