3 Injured in DUI Head-On Crash on South Meridian at Highway 512 [PUYALLUP, WA]

Suspected Impaired Driver Causes Head-on Crash in Puyallup

 
PUYALLUP, WA (June 30, 2020) – A DUI head-on crash on South Meridian in Puyallup left three people injured Monday morning at about 6:00 a.m.
 
The Major Collision Response Team reported that a man in his 20s was driving southbound on South Meridian at a high rate of speed. Approaching the Highway 512 exit, he failed to stop for a red light and then hit another vehicle.
 
The driver suffered life-threatening injuries, while his passenger had non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Meantime, the driver and the sole occupant of the second vehicle also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
 
According to the investigators, there were signs of impairment on the part of the driver who caused the cash. The Major Collision Response Team is investigating the incident as a vehicular assault case.
