57-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Pickup-Truck in Pedestrian Accident near Futurity Drive

SUNLAND PARK, NM (March 28, 2024) – Monday evening, one man was pronounced dead after a pedestrian accident on Racetrack Drive.

First responders arrived to the scene around 9:15 p.m., near Futurity Drive on March 11th after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

According to reports, the 45-year-old male driver of a 2007 Ford pickup-truck struck a pedestrian in the area. First responders pronounced the 57-year-old male pedestrian dead at the scene.

At this time, Sunland Park police have not yet released the victim’s name or place of residency.

In addition, both occupants from inside the Ford did not sustain any injuries. No other details were provided, and the New Mexico State Police and Sunland Park Police is handling further investigation.

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal pedestrian accident on Racetrack Drive.
