Two Pronounced Dead after Pickup vs Car Collision near East Parlier Avenue

FRESNO, CA (March 28, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a driver and a passenger were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Buttonwillow Avenue.

Around 3:30 p.m., police responded to the scene near East Parlier Avenue after receiving multiple calls.  

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of an eastbound Ford Focus failed to stop at a posted stop sign. As a result, the Ford Focus struck a Ford truck that was traveling through the intersection.

Emergency personnel used hydraulic-powered tools to extricate the two occupants inside the Ford Focus. Despite life-saving efforts, the 58-year-old male passenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene. 

Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the 40-year-old female driver to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. 

At this time, the identities of the deceased victims remain undisclosed to the public. However, officials claimed that both parties were residents of Reedley. 

In addition, the driver of the pickup truck was unharmed from the collision. Fresno County officials will provide more information about the fatal two-vehicle crash on Buttonwillow Avenue once available.
