Two Teens and One Adult Injured after Reckless Driving Collision near Stoney Point Road
SANTA ROSA, CA (March 28, 2024) – Carlos Delara was arrested early Saturday night, after a head-on collision on Highway 12.
Around 6:05 p.m., police responded to the scene just south of Stoney Point Road near Occidental Road. Officers say the driver of a white Infiniti sedan was aggressively following a white Mercedes-Benz while heading south.
Investigators say the Infiniti driver attempted to run the Mercedes driver off the road but lost control. As a result, the Infiniti veered into the northbound lanes and collided with an oncoming Honda CR-V.
Responding medical personnel transported the two 16-year-old female passengers of the Infiniti to a hospital for minor to moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the 70-year-old man Larkfield man driving the CR-V was hospitalized for life-threatening injuries.
Following initial tasks, authorities booked the Infiniti driver, 18-year-old Carlos Delara of Santa Rosa, into the Sonoma County Jail. Santa Rose Officials are asking those who witnessed the crash to contact 707-543-3600 ext. 8550 or email jfisher@srcity.org
