43-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near 84th Street
SAN CARLOS, TX (March 27, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Bernardo Santamaria Magana was killed in a pedestrian crash on State Highway 107.
The incident occurred around 6:13 a.m., just west of 84th Street on March 23rd.
Per reports, the driver of a red or maroon Ford Escort struck a man as he was walking south on the freeway. The driver then fled the scene without contacting police.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics personnel later pronounced the involved pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 43-year-old Magana, of San Carlos.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking those with information about the whereabouts of the driver or vehicle to call (956) 565-7600. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal auto-pedestrian accident.
