Edgar Alarcon Dead, Dakota Philips Arrested after Speeding Crash on Holliday Road [Wichita Falls, TX]

39-Year-Old Man Killed in Auto Collision near Kell East Boulevard
WICHITA FALLS, TX (March 26, 2024) – Friday, Edgar Alarcon died and Dakota Phillips was arrested after a speeding crash on Holliday Road.
Police officers responded to the scene around 8:40 p.m., near Kell East Boulevard on March 15th.
Officers say Alarcon was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup-trick south on Holliday Street while Phillips was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado west on Kell West. The speeding Silverado then struck the Colorado’s front driver’s side.
The Colorado then overturned before coming to a stop on the road. Meanwhile, the Silverado traveled through the intersection before coming to rest on a grassy area.
Despite efforts to save his life, Alarcon was pronounced dead at 10:00 p.m., while Philips was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
After leaving the hospital, authorities took Philips to Wichita County Jail and charged him with DWI. No further details are available at this time. However, more information will be provided once made available. Further investigations are currently underway.
