One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Balboa Park

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 26, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, one victim was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on State Route 163.

Around 5:26 a.m., police responded to the northbound lanes of the freeway near Balboa Park after receiving multiple dispatch calls. 

According to official reports, passerby vehicles spotted an individual walking in the center divider. The pedestrian was also walking along the fast lane of the freeway. A passing vehicle then struck the pedestrian, leaving them with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced the involved pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released their name or place of residency.
