36-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Accident near Cle Elum

KITTITAS COUNTY, WA (March 12, 2024) – Wednesday, Amanda Yaksic was injured and Adama Fofana was involved in a semi-truck crash.

Police officers responded around 7:30 a.m., on State Route 970 near Cle Elum on February 28th.

Per reports, 36-year-old Yaksic was driving a vehicle and veered into oncoming lanes. As a result, the wrong-way vehicle collided with a semi-truck, driven by 47-year-old Fofana.

Responding paramedics transported 36-year-old Yaksic to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment of unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, Fofana, of Puyallup remained uninjured.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
