65-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Main Street

MESA, AZ (March 4, 2024) – Tuesday evening, Sharon Rae Blakley was killed in a pedestrian accident on Greenfield Road.

Police officers responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m., near Main Street on February 27th.

According to the Mesa Police, the driver of a vehicle struck 65-year-old Blakley as she was walking in the main entrance of an RV resort. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Blakley dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, police believe speed was a factor. However, no charges were filed at this time. Consequently, authorities closed the resort overnight for clearing duties and additional investigation.
