Two Drivers Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Accident near Jacksonville

CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (December 21, 2023) – Friday, a 3-vehicle collision on Highway 175 killed David Blakeney and Antonio Santana III.

Officers responded to the southbound lanes of the freeway about eight miles north of Jacksonville on December 8th.

Per reports, the incident involved a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2022 Honda Accord and a 2022 Toyota Corolla. Officers say Blakeney was driving the Chevy north and veered into the southbound lanes.

There, the Chevy collided with the other two vehicles. Upon impact, 69-year-old Blakeney and 23-year-old Santana suffered fatal injuries.

In addition, paramedics took two passengers, including a 1-year-old child to Children’s Medical Center. Moreover, four occupants inside the Toyota were taken to UT Health East Texas for further treatment.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
