David Rousso Arrested Following Fatal Pedestrian Crash near Bollay Drive

GOLETA, CA (September 25, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, 29-year-old Ruben Reyes Victoria was killed in a hit-and-run on Storke Road.

The collision happened around 3:00 p.m. along the southbound lanes of Storke Road at Bollay Drive near Camino Real Marketplace. 

According to the report, 19-year-old David Rousso was driving in the area when he hit Victoria, a landscape maintenance worker. After the collision, Rousso drove away from the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Responding emergency personnel discovered the victim lying unconscious in the bicycle lane. However, despite the life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced 29-year-old Ruben Reyes Victoria, of Goleta, dead at the scene. 

Sheriff’s officials managed to track down and arrest the suspect, Rouso, at the 400 block of Storke Road.

In the end, authorities temporarily closed the southbound lane of Storke from Bollay to Santa Felicia as crews investigated the scene.
