At Least 4 Seriously Injured after Juvenile Driver Runs Red Light near Marion Drive
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 31, 2023) – Thursday evening, 4 seriously injured and 5 others sustained minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Owens Avenue.
The collision happened at E. Owens Avenue and Marion Drive intersection around 8:30 p.m. on July 13th.
According to authorities, the juvenile driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was speeding west on Owens and ran a red light at Marion, colliding with a 2019 Honda Civic coming from the south on Marion.
The impact of the crash left life-threatening injuries to the 24-year-old woman driver in the Civic and three of the six juveniles in that vehicle. The other three juveniles in her vehicle had minor injuries.
Meanwhile, medics took the 33-year-old woman passenger in the Tahoe and the juvenile driver with minor injuries to Sunrise Hospital.
At this time, officers have no update on the name and current condition of all the injured victims until their next of kin are notified.
Moreover, police booked the juvenile driver into Clark County Juvenile Detention Center for speed-related charges.
