Hit-and-Run Driver At Large Following Wrong-Way Crash near Old Olive Highway

OROVILLE, CA (April 28, 2023) – Monday evening, an unidentified person sustained injuries after a head-on crash at Forbestown Road.

The accident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. along Forbestown Road and Old Olive Highway.

According to the CHP, a driver in a 2005 Saturn Ion was driving west on Forbestown Road at high speeds when it crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a white 1990 Dodge truck driving east across the same road.

The Dodge overturned and landed on its roof on the south shoulder as a result of the impact.

Responding emergency crews then extricated the Dodge driver and transported them to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld at the moment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Saturn reportedly fled the scene on foot but was able to arrest the passenger.
