Male Victim Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Brimhall Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 23, 2023) – Monday morning, one man was killed and another was injured in a rear-end accident on Coffee Road.

Police received dispatch calls in the area shortly before 6:45 a.m., just north of Brimhall Road on December 26th.

According to reports, a gardening truck was stopped on the side of the road while a man was changing its tire. There, the driver of a passing SUV rear-ended the truck and hit the man.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Meanwhile, paramedics took the passenger to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.

Following preliminary duties, police ruled out alcohol or drugs as a potential factor. All parties involved remained at the scene to cooperate. The BFD stated that fog and speed were contributing factors.
