18-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Box-Truck Collision near Magazine Street

SOLANO COUNTY, CA (January 13, 2023) – Thursday morning, Logan Pendergraft was killed and Javy Martin was hurt in a big-rig crash on Magazine Street.

Authorities responded to the scene around 10:00 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the highway near Magazine Street on January 5th.

Per reports, 27-year-old Martin was driving a Dodge Ram pickup-truck west on I-80 when he veered off the roadway and struck a disabled box truck that was unoccupied on the right shoulder.

Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the passenger of the pickup-truck, 18-year-old Pendergraft dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took 27-year-old Martin to Northbay Medical Center with minor injuries.

The No. 2 and No. 3 lanes of I-80 were blocked during preliminary duties before they were later reopened by 1:00 p.m. Also, police stated that alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the incident.

At this time, the cause of the crash is still under active investigation.
