75-Year-Old Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash near 19th Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 30, 2022) – Saturday night, 75-year-old Majid Mojibi Yazdi was killed in a pedestrian accident on F Street.

The incident occurred around 7:29 p.m., along the 1900 block of F Street on September 17th.

According to reports, Yazdi was attempting to cross the street outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle.

Paramedics responded and rushed Yazdi to a nearby hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, Yazdi later died from his injuries early Sunday morning.

Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Following preliminary duties, officers did not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
