2 Hospitalized after Car Accident on El Sueno Road [Santa Barbara, CA]

Two Injured in Auto Collision near Highway 101

SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 9, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, at least two victims were hospitalized following a car accident on El Sueno Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 3:00 a.m., on the northbound freeway off-ramp at El Sueno Road.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a white sedan struck a tree and blocked the right-hand lane of Highway 101. Upon impact, the driver sustained severe injuries while their passenger sustained moderate injuries.

At this time, the identities of both patients and further circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown. Additionally, a large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Santa Barbara Police and California Highway Patrol continue to investigate the car accident on El Sueno Road. Once available, further more information will be released.
