33-Year-Old Woman Dead after Pedestrian Collision near 55 Freeway

TUSTIN, CA (May 24, 2022)  33-year-old Sarah De La Riva, was killed in a pedestrian crash on 17th Street, early Saturday morning.

The deadly accident happened around 1:10 a.m., along the northbound lanes of 55 Freeway near 17th Street.

As per reports, De La Riva was walking in the No. 3 lane of the freeway when she was hit by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup-truck. Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced De La Riva dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old female driver from Orange, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Further events leading up to the accident remain unclear. However, more information will be given once available as an active investigation is currently ongoing.
