Off-Duty Firefighter Hurt after Motorcycle Collision on Monroe Street

INDIO, CA (May 23, 2022) – On Sunday, a firefighter identified as Brian Kelly suffered injuries in a motorcycle crash on Monroe Street.

The accident occurred shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, on Monroe Street north of Requa Drive.

According to the local Police Department, a motorcycle and a vehicle collided; however, the circumstances of the collision are still under investigation.

Officials later identified the off-duty firefighter as Brian Kelly of the 16th Battalion.

Local firefighters transported the victim to the nearby trauma center for treatment of major injuries.

Moreover, everyone cooperated with the authorities, and drugs and/or alcohol played no role in the collision, a California Highway Patrol officer added.
