Construction Worker Killed in Metro Expansion Project

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 30, 2022) Authorities found Alejandro Zuniga dead on L.A. Metro Tracks in LA Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project last Wednesday.

According to the L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, an employee was killed while working at the future Wilshire/La Brea Subway Station.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene around 5:25 pm to reports of a worker trapped by a service vehicle in the underground tunnel.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident remain unclear.

Later on, Battalion Chief Kenneth Miller identified the deceased victim as a 33-year-old Alejandro Zuniga.

Los Angeles Officials continue to investigate the L.A. Metro tracks incident.
