3 Dead, 1 Hospitalized after Head-On Crash on State Route 79 [Florence, AZ]

Three Killed, 1 Injured in Two-Vehicle Rollover Collision near Milepost 148

FLORENCE, AZ (March 16, 2022) – Early Tuesday night, three people were killed and one was injured in a head-on crash on State Route 79.

Around 5:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene near milepost 148 after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that two vehicles collided head-on.

Authorities also confirmed that the initial impact caused one of the vehicles to overturn, ejecting one of the occupants.

Medical personnel responded and pronounced three people dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the fourth victim was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The crash closed State Route 79 in both directions while emergency crews cleared up the scene. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, an active investigation into the crash on State Route 79 is still currently ongoing.
