22-Year-Old Dead after Multiple Crashes near Western Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 8, 2022) – A hit-and-run on Olympic Boulevard claimed the life of Mario Ramos-Morales early Saturday morning.
According to Los Angeles Police, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on March 5th, near Western Avenue.
Furthermore, the California Highway Patrol said 22-year-old Ramos-Morales was riding an E-Scooter eastbound on Olympic Boulevard.
There, the driver of a northbound blue Dodge Caravan struck the male pedestrian on Western Avenue. The impact ejected the victim from the scooter onto the roadway, where he was later pronounced dead.
Shortly after, an unknown vehicle heading southbound on Western hit the rider and dragged him about 60 feet, before he came to rest in front of a bus stop.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, fleeing the scene immediately.
Meanwhile, the minivan driver, a 39-year-old Los Angeles man, stayed at the scene to cooperate with the police. As of their last update, police did not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the first collision.
