63-Year-Old Woman Killed in Head-On Collision near Road H

ALBION, CA (March 1, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, 63-year-old Patricia Jelen was killed in a head-on crash on Albion Ridge Road.

The incident occurred around 3:52 p.m., in the 31000 block of Albion Ridge Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a Toyota Rav4 was traveling at 45 mph while the driver of a Honda Accord was traveling at 30 mph. For unclear reasons, the Toyota crossed the solid double yellow lines.

As a result, the Toyota collided head-on with the Honda. Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced one passenger inside the Honda, Jelen, dead at the scene.

Meanwhile the Toyota and Honda drivers sustained moderate injuries. However, two passengers in the Honda sustained serious injuries.

The crash closed the road for three hours as officers cleared the area. Authorities did not consider drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the accident but an investigation is currently underway.
