One Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Crash on State Route 163 [Linda Vista, CA]
Wrong-Way Crash on State Route 163 Caused Multi-Vehicle Collision
LINDA VISTA, CA (February 9, 2022) – A wrong-way crash on State Route 163 left multiple injuries Saturday morning.
Authorities said that the accident happened around 4:13 a.m., near Friars Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
Reports indicate that a dark-colored Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes of the freeway, near Sabre Springs. Eventually, multiple vehicles collided in the area. However, the total number of vehicles involved is unknown.
Paramedics arrived and discovered at least one individual suffering from serious injuries, who was quickly hospitalized.
Meanwhile, one suspect was arrested and charged with a driving under the influence. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, Linda Vista authorities are currently investigating the multi-vehicle crash.
