Woman Killed in Solo-Car Crash on 405 Freeway [Gardena, CA]
Woman Ejected and Killed in Fatal Car Collision near 110 Freeway
GARDENA, CA (January 14, 2022) – A fiery solo-car crash on 405 Freeway claimed the life of one woman Saturday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:30 a.m., along the transition road from north 405 Freeway to southbound 110 Freeway.
Investigators determined that the driver of a 2002 Acura MDX veered to the left while traveling at a high-rate of speed. Consequently, it struck the concrete median wall on the south side of the road and overturned onto the concrete median.
Additionally, a witness claimed that the crash ejected the woman from the vehicle while the SUV burst into flames. Eventually, the driver succumbed to her injuries at Harbor UCLA Hospital.
At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable, pending notification from the next of kin.
Gardena Officials are still currently working to investigate the circumstances surrounding the 405 Freeway crash.
