22-Year-Old Man Killed in DUI Accident near Cedar Boulevard
NEWARK, CA (January 13, 2022) – Juan Gonzalez-Ramirez died late Sunday evening following a DUI car crash on Saint Isabel Street.
According to Alameda County Sherrif’s Office, crews responded to the scene near Cedar Boulevard around 11:20 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities located a severely damaged vehicle with four occupants inside. Per reports, the driver struck an unoccupied parked vehicle for reasons unknown.
Medics arrived and performed life-saving efforts on one of the victims who was in a critical condition. However, the victim later identified as 22-year-old Gonzales-Ramirez, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
In addition, the three other people inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police arrested the unidentified driver, a 24-year-old Newark resident, on suspicion of driving under the influence.
At this time, police are still investigating the deadly crash.
