Hit-and-Run on Alondra Boulevard Left One Bicyclist Dead

GARDENA, CA (December 9, 2021) – One bicyclist has died after a hit-and-run on Alondra Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. when a 39-year-old male, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was cycling in a marked crosswalk on Vermont Avenue.

Eventually, first responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Reports said the suspect was driving northbound at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.

Police have been asking the public for help in identifying the driver, who did give their identity or even render aid. He apparently continued driving without stopping.
