Auto-pedestrian Collision on Southbound 405 Freeway Leaves Two Dead

GARDEN GROVE, CA (November 17, 2021) – One man and one woman died last Saturday in a collision on 405 Freeway.

Authorities said shortly before noon, a 39-year-old man in a Volkswagen driving at a high rate speed struck a Honda. It exploded in flames as a result of the crash.

The coroner pronounced the driver and passenger dead at the scene.

Responders took Oscar Anguiano, the driver of the Volkswagen, to UCI Medical Center.

Initial investigation said impairment could be a factor in the collision, as they placed Anguiano under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

Furthermore, the collision on the southbound 405 Freeway is currently under active investigation.
