Teen Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Asuza Avenue near Fairgrove Avenue

WEST COVINA, CA (September 2, 2021) 13-year-old Xinriu Li lost her life Sunday night after a pedestrian hit-and-run on Asuza Avenue.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 7:35 p.m. August 29, in the area of Asuza Avenue and Fairgrove Avenue.

Furthermore, officers arrived on the scene after receiving reports of a hit-and-run and an unresponsive teen on the streets. However, the events leading up to the crash remain unknown.

Despite life-saving efforts, Li was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Eventually, officials arrested the unnamed juvenile driver the next day, Monday, on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, and driving under the influence.

Moreover, an active investigation is currently underway.
