26-Year-Old Driver Dies in Fatal Collision on Temperance Avenue

FRESNO, CA (August 03, 2021) – Luke Emil Alpoonarian died in a car accident on Temperance Avenue in Fresno on Wednesday afternoon.

The collision occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on July 29 at the intersection of Temperance and Jensen Avenues.

According to authorities, 26-year-old Luke Emil Alpoonarian, of Fresno, was killed when his car collided with an SUV at the intersection under unknown circumstances.

Officers on the scene reported that Alpoonarian and the woman driving the SUV were both seriously injured.

Medics then rushed the two drivers to a nearby hospital, where Aploonarian died later that night.

According to the CHP, after an investigation, they discovered that Aploonarian ran a red light and collided with the woman’s vehicle. It was additionally reported that Aploonarian was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

At this time, authorities have not yet released about the condition of the other driver. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
