Elderly Woman Killed, 2 Injured Following a Police Pursuit in Baldwin Hills
BALDWIN HILLS, CA (July 2, 2021) – Saturday morning, Aida Villavicencio was killed after a police pursuit in Baldwin Hills.
Initially, the chase started when 26-year-old Eliseo Ixchopcalel rear-ended a police cruiser at Hobart Boulevard and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 1:20 A.M.
Afterwards, Ixchopcalel immediately fled northbound on Western Avenue and the pursuit began. Subsequently, the suspect’s vehicle veered off the street and crashed into the northeast corner of a residence.
Ixchopcalel’s vehicle drove into a bedroom and trapped two elderly victims under his car. Emergency responders arrived and attempted to rescue the two residents trapped inside the residence.
Responding personnel pronounced 86-year-old Aida Villavicencio dead at the scene. In addition, the male resident and the suspect received non life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, police officers sustained minor injuries but declined to be taken to the hospital.
