Police Search for Suspect after Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash on 56th Street [Phoenix, AZ]

Elderly Man Killed in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Tierra Buena Lane

PHOENIX, AZ (April 1, 2021) – Early Thursday morning on April 1, a 67-year-old man was killed in a deadly hit-and-run crash on 56th Street.

Phoenix Police arrived to the scene around 5:46 a.m., on Tierra Buena Lane and 56th Street. According to reports, a white pickup-truck struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.

When emergency crews arrived, they pronounced the man dead on scene. According to police, he was not in the marked crosswalk at the time.

Those with further information regarding the hit-and-run crash on 56th Street are asked to contact local authorities as soon as possible.

The surrounding area at the intersection was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.

An active investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more information will be released to the public.
