Woman Struck and Injured by Three Vehicles on Indian School Road in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (November 22, 2019) — A 28-year-old woman was struck and injured by at least three vehicles on Tuesday, November 19.
According to The Phoenix Police Department, the woman tried to cross Indian School Road near 81st Avenue around 6:00 p.m. when a vehicle hit her.
A witness told officers that at least three vehicles struck the woman. However, no witnesses were able to describe the first collision.
Reports said that the second vehicle, which fled the scene, was a newer model truck, possibly a Chevrolet. The third vehicle that hit the woman stopped after the incident and remained at the scene.
The third vehicle struck the woman while she was already on the ground. The driver pulled over after he realized he struck someone. Officials believe that that driver was not impaired. It was not immediately determined whether the woman was iunder the influence.
The woman remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
Authorities shut down Indian School Road in both directions between 81st and 83rd avenues on Tuesday night.
