2 Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 163 near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard

 
KEARNY MESA, CA (November 25, 2019) – A woman and a boy suffered injuries in a semi-truck crash on Highway 163, Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 9:30 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a Mazda sedan lost control and hit the guardrail on the right side of the freeway. Then, a semi-truck collided with the sedan near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
 
Emergency responders rushed the 35-year-old driver to Sharp Memorial Hospital with breathing difficulties. Meanwhile, the 4-year-old boy was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
 
The semi-truck driver did not sustain injuries and remained at the scene.
 
CHP officials continue to investigate the cause of the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
