Driver Dies in Early Morning Rear-End Crash with Semi Truck on 15 Freeway in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (May 22, 2020) – A driver was killed in a rear-end crash early Friday morning in Victorville, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 12:19 a.m. on northbound 15 Freeway at Bear Valley Road off-ramp.
According to Victorville City Firefighters, a black 1999 Toyota Avalon slammed the back of a parked 2010 Freightliner Cascadia for unknown reasons.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the Avalon lodged under the rear of the semi and the driver was trapped inside. They pronounced the unidentified Avalon driver dead at the scene.
CHP officers interviewed the driver of the semi who reported he was asleep in the cab when the crash occurred.
No additional information is being available at this time. The official cause of the crash is under investigation by the Victorville CHP station.
