Man Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Evergreen Way
EVERETT, WA (February 12, 2020) — Police arrested a 29-year-old man after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Evergreen Way on Sunday, February 9.
According to Everett police, officers responded at about 6:15 a.m. to the scene of a crash near Evergreen Way and Madison Street.
Officers discovered that a pickup truck and an SUV crashed in the northbound lanes. A man in his 50s inside of a pickup truck succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
A tip from a witness led officers to Elm Street where they arrested the suspected driver of the SUV. Officers booked the driver into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.
Investigators stated that they believe alcohol and speed both contributed to the incident. Detectives are still investigating.
