Michael Davis Fatally Injured after Hit-and-Run Accident on Rancho Vista Boulevard
PALMDALE, CA (February 12, 2020) – A 37-year-old Palmdale man identified as Michael Davis died in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday, February 8.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the crash took place at 12:47 a.m. near Rancho Vista Boulevard and 15 Street West in Palmdale.
A 1997 Honda Civic moved westbound on Rancho Vista Boulevard in the number one lane. Then it failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of 15th Street West. After that, it struck Davis as he rode his motorcycle southbound on 15th Street West.
Davis died at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the Honda Civic continued westbound on Rancho Vista Boulevard then the vehicle was disabled as a result of the collision. Witnesses said that the driver of the Honda Civic then exited the car and fled the scene on foot, the sheriff’s news said.
Deputies looked for the driver in the area, but must have left the area.
It is not yet determined if the driver of the Honda Civic was under the influence during the incident.
