Man Killed in La Jolla Pedestrian Crash on Salk Institute Road
LA JOLLA, CA (November 30, 2019) — A 31-year-old man sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Salk Institute Road on Tuesday, November 26.
According to San Diego police, an 18-year-old man drove a 2013 Mercedes SUV north on Torrey Pines Road. Then he struck a man crossing outside a crosswalk near Salk Institute Road around 6:45 p.m., police Officer John Buttle stated.
The pedestrian sustained major head trauma. Paramedics transported him to a hospital. His condition was not yet determined.
Investigators stated that alcohol was not a factor.
