Man Hit and Killed by Big Rig in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99
FRESNO, CA (February 14, 2020) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Jensen Avenue in Fresno Thursday early morning.
The collision happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the northbound side according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a big rig was getting on the highway at North Avenue when he saw the pedestrian in the roadway. The driver tried to avoid the pedestrian but unable to do so. After that, another vehicle also struck the man.
The unidentified victim died at the scene. Both drivers stayed and cooperated in the investigation.
Meantime, Caltrans closed the right two lanes of Highway 99 and reopened them after two hours.
As to why the man was in the roadway was unknown. However, the CHP is conducting further investigation.
