65-Year-Old Keith Clay Hit, Killed by Train in Puyallup
PUYALLUP, WA (February 9, 2020) – Authorities identified 65-year-old Keith Clay as the pedestrian struck and killed by an Amtrak train, Sunday evening.
According to the Puyallup Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:45 PM. A northbound passenger train reportedly struck something in the 600 block of East Pioneer Avenue. The train’s crew immediately called the police, and officers found Clay near the tracks.
Emergency responders pronounced Clay dead at the scene. Meanwhile, no one on the train sustained injuries in the collision.
Investigators believe the victim had been sitting on the tracks and was under a sleeping bag when the train hit him. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
