Good Samaritan Killed While Helping Stalled Car on D Street in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (December 4, 2019) — A good Samaritan was killed while helping others move a disabled vehicle off on D Street on Saturday, November 30.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 5:06 p.m. near the intersection of D Street and Hesperia Road.
Officials stated that a Toyota SUV stalled westbound on D Street. The two occupants then tried to push it out of the roadway when an unidentified man started to help.
A Lexus moving in the same direction crashed into the back of the SUV. This trapped the man underneath the car. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
First responders rushed the two occupants of the Toyota and the driver of the Lexus to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Officers closed D Street between 8th Avenue and 11th Avenue for several hours during investigation. Authorities are still determining whether speed, alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
