Officials ID Freddy Tombo in Deadly Collision Involving Garbage Truck in Scottsdale
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (April 03, 2020) — The officials identified 34-year-old Freddy Tombo as the man who died after hit by a garbage truck Wednesday morning.
The authorities said the incident occurred in a neighborhood near Camelback Road and Granite Reef Road.
Based on a preliminary investigation, Tombo was sleeping in the alleyway when hit by the city garbage truck. He died at the scene.
The police said Tombo was wearing dark clothing and covered up at the time of the incident. The officers said he was homeless.
Meantime, whether any citation or arrest was made was not clear. There was also no immediate information whether alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the collision. However, the incident remains under investigation.
