Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Highway 101 Causes Delays in South San Francisco
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 11, 2020) — A man died in a fatal pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in South San Francisco Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at least one vehicle struck the pedestrian at about 9:30 p.m. The pedestrian was walking in the center divider of northbound Highway 101 and facing oncoming traffic.
There was no immediate information as to why the man was walking on the highway. No further information about the drivers and vehicles involved was also released.
Meantime, the officials issued a SigAlert at 10:31 p.m. for the closure of five lanes. They diverted off traffic at Sout Airport Boulevard during the investigation and emergency response.
