Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on Aurora Avenue in Seattle
SEATTLE, WA (April 03, 2020) — A 70-year-old man died in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Aurora Avenue in Seattle Wednesday night.
The police said a northbound car struck the man past 8:00 p.m. He was crossing Aurora Avenue at North 125th Street at the time.
First responders found the man lying in the roadway unconscious when they arrived at the scene. The medics attempted CPR but later pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Meantime, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot following the collision. However, the police located the suspect’s unoccupied car approximately eight blocks away from the scene. After further search, they found and arrested the driver in North Seattle.
According to the investigators, the suspect is 21 years old. There were no indications that the driver was impaired, they said, and took a blood sample as evidence.
Subsequently, the officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide and hit-and-run.
