Child Killed, Mother and Sister Hospitalized after Fiery Crash on Old Road
STEVENSON RANCH, CA (November 18, 2019) – A 6-year-old girl died and her toddler sister was badly injured after their mother lost control of the car they were in and crashed into a light post in the Stevenson Ranch area Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:00 AM. A vehicle had been involved in multiple crashes before it came to a stop. Then, the driver crashed into a tree near Pico Canyon Road.
Good Samaritans rushed to the scene and removed two girls from the wreckage before the vehicle caught fire. An off-duty nurse performed CPR on the 6-year-old girl. Unfortunately, the victim later succumbed to injuries.
Emergency crews arrived and transported the 2-year-old girl and the driver, identified as the mother of the girls, to a hospital with serious injuries. As per recent updates, their conditions are now stable.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities also noted that the driver was not wearing clothes at the time of the collision. Officials will release additional information once it becomes available.
