Two Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 45 [Houston, TX]
2 Killed in Fiery Wrong-Way Accident near FM 646
HOUSTON, TX (February 12, 2024) – Early Friday morning, two victims were pronounced dead after a wrong-way collision on Interstate 45.
Police responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., at the 2900 block of Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near FM 646 on January 12th.
Per reports, the driver of a Toyota sedan was traveling the wrong-way on the freeway and collided head-on with a Volkswagen sedan.
First responders located the Toyota engulfed in flames upon arrival. Medics pronounced the male driver of the Toyota dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took the female driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Crews also pronounced the driver of the Volkswagen deceased. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided about the wrong-way collision on Interstate 45.
