Workers Injured in Pipe Explosion Accident near Braker Lane

AUSTIN, TX (February 7, 2024) – Early Tuesday afternoon, three workers sustained injuries in a pipe explosion on North FM 973.

Police responded around 1:00 p.m., at the 10400 block of North FM 973 near Braker Lane on January 30th.

The Austin-Travis County says three workers were cutting a water pipe at a construction site when it exploded, causing burn injuries to the workers.

Consequently, two of the victims were taken to Dell Seton via STAR Flight with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the other one was taken to St. David’s South with critical wounds.

No additional information was released by the authorities, and an active investigation is underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
