50-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash near American Road

HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (December 12, 2023) – Monday afternoon, James Michael Dewbre was killed in a 2-car accident on US Highway 385.

Around 12:20 p.m., police responded to the scene near American Road on December 4th.

Investigators say 21-year-old Andrew Mitchell was driving a Jeep east on American Road and failed to stop at the intersection. As a result, the Jeep struck a northbound vehicle, driven by Dewbre.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 50-year-old Dewbre dead at the scene.
